‘Youth of the Ummah’ Adventure Day

Thirty six high school boys from Durban and surrounding areas had a fun-filled ‘Adventure Day’ programme hosted by the ‘Youth of the Ummah’ (‘YOU’) Department of Darul Ihsan Centre on Tuesday, 04 April 2107.

The programme began with a Qirat rendered by one of the participants at Masjid Taqwa in Sea Cow Lake. Thereafter all were addressed by Mufti Zubair Bayat, the Ameer of Darul Ihsan Centre, on how one can have fun, a sense of play and partake in physical activity within the boundaries of Sharia.

At 9:15 AM all departed for the ‘SWAT Laser Tag’ venue in Durban North where the boys actively partook in a three hour adrenaline rush ‘Laser Tag’ experience.

All performed their Zuhr Salah at the nearby River Side Masjid followed by a hearty lunch and a Q & A session at the Japanese Gardens.

This was followed by a 45 minute hike through the Hawaan Forest with the day’s activities ending at the shores of the Durban beach.

The response and feedback of the ‘Adventure Day’ programme from the participating youth was positive and encouraging with keenness shown for more such adventure trips to be hosted by ‘YOU.’

‘YOU’ - in its ongoing initiative for the youth - plans to host similar events in the future, Insha Allah.

May Allah accept the contributions of our sponsors, efforts of the support crew, participants and all others involved for a safe and successful ‘Adventure Day.’
