Youth of the Ummah's 15th Youth Camp at Seula Zimbili, KZN
The Youth of the Ummah’s 15th Youth Camp, held at Seula Zimbili in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), was a transformative and spiritually enriching event designed to inspire and uplift the Muslim youth. The camp, which ran over 3 days i.e. 3,4,5 of December 2024, was loaded with fun filled activities and guided by Islamic teachings.
The camp attracted around 30 young participants from various communities, who came together to engage in a series of educational, spiritual, and recreational activities. Through the guidance of the Ulama and facilitators, the youth were offered valuable lessons in leadership, Deen, personal development, and social responsibility.
A few objectives of the camp were:
Spiritual Growth and Reflection: To help the youth strengthen their connection to Allah Ta’ala and deepen their understanding of Islam.
Fostering Brotherhood and Unity: To encourage the youth to build meaningful relationships with others in the Ummah, irrespective of race or wealth.
Personal and Leadership Development: To cultivate leadership qualities and promote personal growth in accordance with Islamic principles.
Each day began with Fajr Salah in Jamat followed by Dhikr of Allah Ta’ala. Inspirational advices covering relevant topics were discussed after the Asr Salah. These sessions were designed not only to increase knowledge but to help participants internalize and apply Islamic teachings in their daily lives.
The camp also incorporated physical activities to foster teamwork and enhance the overall experience. Activities such as abseiling, zip lining, soccer, group challenges etc. all allowed participants to bond, collaborate, and build trust. These activities were not only enjoyable but also reinforced the Islamic values of cooperation and respect for others.
The response from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive Islamic environment. Some highlighted the impact of the camp on their personal lives, noting that they felt spiritually recharged and motivated to be better versions of themselves going forward, insha Allah.
Alhumdulillah, the 15th Youth Camp of the Youth of the Ummah at Seula Zimbili was a resounding success, offering the youth an invaluable experience of growth, learning, and camaraderie. By grounding the camp in Islamic teachings, Youth of the Ummah ensured that the event not only nurtured the spiritual development of the participants but also physically illustrated to them that there is so much more fun to be had outdoors than behind screens!
We ask Allah Ta’ala to accept the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of this camp and look forward to welcoming you to our next youth activity, insha Allah.
